EA Sports Studio
EA Sports (originally known as Electronic Arts Sports Network) is a brand that has been used since 1991 by Electronic Arts to promote its regular sports games. In the years 2000-2008, the EA Sports Studio Big side brand also operated as part of EA Sports, which sports games with a bit more agile character. The most important developer studios forming for EA Sports are teams:
- EA Canada – based in Burnaby (British Columbia, Canada),
- EA Tiburon – seated in Maitland (Florida, USA),
- EA Black Box (formerly Black Box Games) – based in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada).
The EA Sports brand is known primarily from the series of sports that were started in the 90s of the last century, most often developed in regular annual cycles. Among them are series devoted to such disciplines as football (Fifa 19 PC Download), ice hockey (NHL), basketball (NBA Live), American football (Madden NFL), golf (PGA Tour), and recently also mixed martial arts (EA Sports MMA / EA Sports UFC). Over the years, the strongest position in the company’s portfolio has also been taken up by brands that are not being developed today, devoted to boxing (Fight Night), academic basketball, academic and indoor football, baseball, cricket, tennis and rugby. There was also a place for managerial games (FIFA Manager) and racing games (eg NASCAR or F1).
One of the features that distinguishes EA productions
Sports is a fact that a great part of the games has key licenses corresponding to individual disciplines of the organization. Over the years, the Electronic Arts concern has gained a position of a kind of monopoly in this field and has been criticized very often for that. Thanks to this, in most sports games of this company, however, we can manage real existing teams and players, taking part in the actual competitions. Most often, we also watch real logos and club colors and visit real-world sports arenas.
